William Lee Schreffler, 66, of 2260 Pleasant Grove Road, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 3:07 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence.
He was born on December 22, 1948 in Danville, the son of the late William John Schreffler and Louise C. (George) Schreffler.
He was graduate of Hunterdon High School class of 1967, where he was in the concert orchestra, and participated in the inaugural parade for President Johnson on Jan. 20, 1965. He also received an award for automotive repair.
Bill was drafted into the US Army on July 3, 1968 where he served as a power plant operator earning rank of SP4, he did a tour in Vietnam from December of 1968 to his honorable discharge on Feb. 8, 1970.
He worked in the parts department of VW Company in Somerville and Flemington, NJ until 2002.
His interests were assembling and flying helicopters, and repairing small gasoline engines.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycles on back roads and through the forest, and loved his Siberian
Husky dogs.
Surviving are his step-mother, Esther E. Schreffler of Mifflinburg, one sister, Cheryl A. Shay of Mifflinburg, one nephew, Ryan P. Ashley Shay of Mifflinburg and their children, maternal Uncle, William Levan of Weikert, and numerous cousins.
Services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
