William A. Ross Sr., 87, of Mifflinburg, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.
He was born March 13, 1932, in Snowshoe, a son of the late James Melvin "Casey" and Mary Kathryn (Snyder) Ross. On Oct. 22, 1951, he married the former Leona R. Kirkner who survives. They shared 68 years of memories.
William was employed by Philco Ford, Watsontown until 1969. He then worked for Ritz Craft, Mifflinburg until his retirement in 1993.
His hobbies included woodworking, bowling, repairing and restoring cars. In the 60s and 70s, William raced cars at the Selinsgrove and Kreamer drag strips. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William A. (Sherry) Ross Jr. of Mifflinburg; one daughter, Patricia Fox of Montandon; one brother, Boyde Ross of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Peg" and Ronald Keiser of Watsontown; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Ross; and two grandchildren, Corry and Brock Earnest.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 29, at the Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Road, Forest Hill, followed by the funeral at noon with Pastor Butch Woolsey officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in William's memory may be made to Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
Arrangements are by the Dominck T. Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut St., Mifflinburg.
