William L. Prye

William (Bill) Leroy Prye, 66, of Mifflinburg went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 5:17 p.m. at UPMC Sunbury.

Bill was born on July 18, 1951 in, Lewistown, the son of the late Carl and Margaretta (Koons) Prye.  On October 14, 1978, he married the former Gloria J.  Prye (Miller), who survives.  Together, they shared almost 40 years of memories.

William was a 1959 Graduate of Greenwood High School.

Bill was a Christian, and he enjoyed serving in his church, River of Life Assembly of God in Sunbury, as an Elder, on the board of directors, and taking care of the church on a routine basis.  He will be remembered as having a servant’s heart.

Bill retired from XPL Freight Company in New Columbia.

After his retirement, he joined the Buffalo Valley Sportsman Club.  He enjoyed driving tour buses through NYC and other cities, as well as traveling with his wife to Pittsburgh. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was known to his family and friends as a ‘joker’.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Cory A. Prye of Northumberland, John E. Reitenbach Jr. and his wife Chelsea of Sunbury, Crystal S. Koppen and husband Jacque of Plainfield, Wis., Mark D. Reitenbach and his wife Lori of Sunbury; five grandchildren: Selah, Zachary, Charlie, Brooke, Kayty; two great-grandchild, Asher and one due in October; a sister, Kathy Shelley and her husband Jim of Millerstown and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Prye, and a sister who passed away at 11 years old.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing 10:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at River of Life Assembly of God, 701 S. 2nd St., Sunbury.  Bill’s Life Celebration service will be held at 11:00 with Pastor A. Peter Christensen and Rev. Kerry Bingaman, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery, Lewisburg.
