William Vallmer Bowers

William Vallmer Bowers, 85, of Lewisburg entered into rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at home.

He was born September 15, 1934 in Weigh Scales(Shamokin) a son of the late William V. and Carrie (Rothka) Bowers. On May 18, 1973 in West Milton, he married the former Mary Jane Miller, who survives.

Bill attended Trevorton schools. He was a furniture builder, skilled auto mechanic, machinist with Westinghouse for 15 years and self employed building contractor for 28 years. He was a Phillies, NASCAR and Penn State fan, NRA member and enjoyed fly fishing, boating, camping and big game hunting and was successful in 2002 to harvest a Pennsylvania Elk. He took a lot of pride in the restoration of his 1977 International Scout pickup truck.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by one son Lester Bowers of Clearwater, Florida, two daughters and sons-in-law Angelique and Tony Cygan of Bellefonte and Lisa and James Vigilante of Virginia Beach, VA; and four grandchildren Sarah Steese of Philadelphia, Sean Steese of Mifflinburg, Taylor Vigilante of Baltimore and Wyatt Vigilante of Virginia Beach, VA.

He is preceded in death by sisters Betty, Lorraine, brother James and his dog Maggie whom he sorely missed.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the Hospice of Evangelical staff.
