Warren S. Diggins, 70, of Lewisburg passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Michelle M. Maiben and his two sons, two daughter-in-laws, and 6 grandchildren. His oldest son Chris resides in Olathe Kansas with his wife Carrie Diggins and their children Cami, Josh, Gwen, and Ava. His youngest son Brian resides in Winfield with his wife Ashley and their daughters Emery and Laken.
Warren was born on August 28, 1953 in Red Bank, New Jersey, the middle son of the late Martin J. Diggins and Mary (Scoville) Diggins. In New Jersey, Warren grew up near the ocean where he developed a love of surfing, fishing, and seafood. Along with his brothers David and Martin he graduated from Rumson - Fair Haven Regional High School in 1971.
After high school graduation Warren attended Susquehanna University. There he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity while earning his BA in political science. During his time at school he would meet his wife Michelle and they were married on May 1, 1976.
After graduating Susquehanna, Warren stayed in the valley to pursue a career of entrepreneurship. He began his career in radio working at several local radio stations before going on to found 99.3 WZXR in Williamsport and Power 92 in Johnstown. Following his successful exit from radio station ownership, Warren established the Diggins Advertising Agency, which allowed him to continue to work in Williamsport with the friends and colleagues that he enjoyed serving his entire career.
Early on, Warren settled his family in Lewisburg and resided there for the remainder of his life. Warren made many friends in the community and he was well known for his passion for cooking. He loved cooking for crowds and sharing his talent at numerous football tailgates for teams at Lewisburg High School, Bucknell University, and Penn State. Warren was also an avid golfer and enjoyed his regular outings with the Theis League and other friends at courses throughout the Valley.
Warren was probably most at peace in the outdoors. He was a member of the Sand Run Hunting Club, which he made known was his favorite place in the world. There he enjoyed many days hunting, shooting, fishing, and training his beloved bird dogs Kokomo, Tessie, Tkequs, Sadie, and Remi.
A celebration of Warren's life is being planned and will be held later in the summer.
