Verna High Zimmerman, 78, of 12875 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg entered into rest at 11:40 am on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at Evangelical Community Hospital.
She was born on February 18, 1941 in East Earl Twp., Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Isaac B. and Hettie (High) Zimmerman. On January 17, 1961 she married Leroy S. Zimmerman, who survives. This past January they celebrated 58 years of marriage.
She was a member of Mountain View Church, Groffdale Conference.
Verna was a homemaker.
Surviving in addition to her husband are seven children and their spouses, Marlene Z. wife of Lester Martin of MIfflinburg, Edward Z. husband of Lovella Hoover Zimmerman of Denver, PA, Leroy S. husband of Edna Hoover Zimmerman of Granville Summit, PA, Verna H. wife of Daniel L. Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Anna Mae wife of Kenneth H. Martin of Millmont, Leon R. husband of Lydia Ann Martin of Millmont, Alvertas F. wife of Sheldon Zeiset of Mifflinburg, 44 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Anna H. Martin, Vera H. Newswanger and Miriam H. Zimmerman, Isaac H. and wife Fannie Zimmerman, Aaron H. and wife Edna Mae Zimmerman, Lloyd H. and wife Annetta Zimmerman, Paul H. and wife Mabel Zimmerman and a sister-in-law, Mary Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by a son James A. Zimmerman, 2 brothers, Harold H. and Christian Zimmerman, 4 sisters, Mary H. Newswanger, Esther H. Weaver, Elva H. Zimmerman and Mabel H. Horst and 5 brothers-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019 from at the residence of Kenneth and Anna Mae Martin, 14340 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, PA 17845, where the funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2019. Further services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, 274 Kaiser Run Road,Millmont, officiating will be Bishop Ammon Weaver, officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery, Millmont.
