Tabitha Lynn "Tabby" Aikey, 22, of 456 Blue Hill Road, Selinsgrove, passed away due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident at 2:08 AM, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Kelly Township, Union County.
She was born on October 28, 1991 in Lewisburg, a daughter of Charles H. Aikey, Jr of Selinsgrove and Janet A. (Pattison) Aikey of Mifflinburg.
“Tabitha Lynn Aikey I have no doubt is one of the incredible souls who shone so bright and so intensely she was meant to brighten the lives of not only every person she met but every living thing. She had throughout her life, from the time she was tiny girl through the day she took her leave of us, something that made you want to be near to her. This magnificent light reached people and animals alike. She radiated beauty and a desire to be in her presence. She felt inviting as she did intimidating and loving as she seemed stoic. I know the things I've said seem contradictory but if you have had the pleasure to know this lovely girl you surely understand. She was and will always be a complex soul. I know so many of us will crave for the rest of our lives to better understand her beautiful and puzzling complexity. I feel safe saying the hurt we feel for Tab's loss is most intensified by how sure so many of us are of what she was capable of bringing to this world and how sure we are she would exceed expectation at whatever opportunities and obstacles would cross her path. I think it wise as we go through our lives day to day that we recognize what from her life we can bring into our own as we remember what joy, sadness, and innumerable other emotions she has evoked from us the and the massive imprint they each left. Be it her tenacity, her bravery, her love, her silliness or any one of the numerous qualities that made Tabitha the girl we admire and love more than words and will miss so painfully so much.”
