Susan Danette Kerlin

Susan D. Kerlin, of Millheim, went to her heavenly home on October 19, 2023, after a long and gallant battle with cancer. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, also believe in me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am."

Susan was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on November 4, 1950, to the late Dorothy M. Shoffstall and was also the beloved granddaughter of the late Gertrude M. Shoffstall.

Susan is survived by her loving children: Amanda Kerlin, also of Millheim, and William Kerlin II (Amelis Paz-Kerlin) of Austin, Texas, as well as beloved friends, Julie and Tom Smith (and family) and Holly and Rich Ellers, all of Centre Hall.

Susan was an exceptional mother and friend, who was full of joy and grace. For several decades, she was a devoted caregiver to many friends, individuals, and families, particularly those nearing end of life. Susan was a spiritual, kind, supporting soul and a blessing to everyone she encountered. She dearly loved her cats and her friend's dogs, and her culinary knowledge and skills were legendary among her friends and family.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her honor to Shaner Cancer Center, Mt. Nittany Hospital, State College, Pennsylvania.
