Scott Eugene Erb, 50, of 426 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg passed away unexpectently on Friday afternoon November 30, 2012 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born on March 13, 1962 in Lewisburg, the son of the late Franklin and Ilene Mae (Arner) Erb.
Scott graduated from Mifflinburg High School class of 1980 and studied at the Sun Area Technical Institute to be a machinist.
Scott owned and operated the former Big Al's pizza Shop in Lewisburg, where he was known to make a great pizza and had many regular customers.
He loved helping children. He served as a foster parent for many years and received recognition from President George W. Bush for his efforts. He also coached Mt. View baseball for five years.
Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing in his band, visiting Gettysburg, working on family genealogy, and spending time with his dogs.
Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jesse Schweitzer of Mifflinburg, two brothers and one sister-law, Marlin Erb, Sr of Mifflinburg, Larry and Melody Erb of Lewisburg, stepson, Luther Metzger, Jr of Wilkes Barre, foster daughter, Ashley O'Garmen of Bloomsburg, foster grandson, Garrett O'Garmen of Bloomsburg, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Erb, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 3 to 4 on Saturday at the St John's Union Church of Dry Valley, where the memorial service to celebrate Scott's life be held at 4, with Rev. Ricky Phillips, officiating.
Interment will be in Mazeppa Cemetery.
