Russell Leroy Zimmerman

Russell Leroy Zimmerman, 85, of Millmont entered into rest at 10:24 am on July 21, 2019 at ManorCare Sunbury.

Born on March 5, 1934 in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Lester L. and Isabelle K. (Pontius) Zimmerman. On November 7, 1954, he married the former Jane M. Strickler, who survives.  They had one son, Bryan R. Zimmerman, who preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1953, where he was a standout wrestler and went undefeated in 1953.

He was a honorably discharged Army veteran.

Russ worked in bridge construction for S.J. Groves and Sons, Inc. He was also co owner of Zimmerman's Powder Keg. Glen Iron.

He was a member of the Glen Iron Fire Co., Mifflinburg American Legion, Mifflinburg VFW, and the Union County Sportsman’s Club.

In keeping with Russ's wishes there will be no services.
