Robert Swartzlander Sr., 86 of Mifflinburg unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Monday December 21, 2020 at his home
.
He was born November 12, 1934, in Centre County, the son of the late
Charles and Helen (Boob) Swartzlander. On December 22, 1956 he married the former Janet N. (Mull) Swartzlander who preceded him in death on May 27,2007.
He was employed by Furman Foods in Northumberland, from the early 60's until he retired in 1996.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. If he
knew you served he would always thank you for your service.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed company of any kind,
especially coffee time and never turned anyone away. His greatest joy the
last three years was going out to eat and the Sunday visits at his home with his granddaughters, Makenzie & Alexandra Yearick and especially his great grandchildren, Sophia & Ryan Hoffmaster. He also enjoyed attending family reunion's when they had them.
He is survived by the following children: Terry Swartzlander Sr. and his
Wife, Marlene, of Milton , Sandra Miller and her Husband, James of Milton, Brenda Rabuck and her Husband, Scott Sr. of Mifflinburg, also, Rodney Swartzlander, Robert Swartzlander Jr, Samuel Swartzlander, Penni, Marian, HelenAnn, Karen, one sister, Irene Sherwood of Milton, 26 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by five brothers, Gary, Donald, Neil, Harold, Butch Swartzlander, three sisters, Katherine Benelisha, Rosella Hoffman, and Eleanor Smith, and a great grandson, Wyatt Erb.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Shikellamy State Park Marina, Sunbury, with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.
Robert would say this a lot lately: If you can't come see me when I'm living you don't need to see me when I'm gone.
Memorial contributions in Robert's memory should go to a Veterans
