Robert Wendell Johnson, 93, of Williamsport entered into rest at 8:21 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Williamsport Home.
He was born on July 11, 1924 in Penfield, IL, a son of the late Thomas Griffith and Goldie Mabel (Sager) Johnson.
He was a Navy veteran serving on USS Welles, USS McKee, and USS Thron. He was awarded the following honors; Victory Medal, Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars, America Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze stars.
He was a self employed stone mason retiring in 1987.
He is survived by one sister Barbara Jean Johnson, Gifford, IL, and close friends, William E. and Martha Sauers of Williamsport, Robert Boyer of Delaware, Tina Seitzer of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Willaim Dewitt Johnson, and his companion, Grace Irene Boyer.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 12:30 to 1 PM on Friday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funerals · Cremations · Monuments, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 1 PM, with Pastor Gary L. Owens, officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded by local area veterans will be in Penns Creek Union Cemetery.
