Robert Geiswite, Sr, 88, of 480 Hanselman Road, Mifflinburg passed away at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on March 4, 1926 in Winfield, a son the late Lewis and Mary Alice (Walter) Geiswite. On September 2, 1954 he married the former Jeanne L. Lauver, who passed away on April 26, 1998.
Robert served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge on March 25, 1960.
Robert worked as a self employed truck driver for 20 years.
He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and was known as a Mr. fix-it.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael and Katie Geiswite of Mifflinburg, David and Christine Parker of England, one brother; Ray Geiswite of Winfield, two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Botts, Cale Michael Robert Geiswite, two great grandchildren, Colin and Cody Botts.
He was preceded in death by one son; Robert Geiswite, one daughter, Debra Lee Geiswite in infancy, six brother, Wes, Charles, Fred, Norman, Earl, and Lester Geiswite, two sister; Anna Geiswite, Mary Snyder.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Friday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 AM, with the Rev Ricky Phillips, officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded by veterans of the Mifflinburg American Legion will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery and Memorial Park, Shamokin Dam.
