Noah Maddox Traver, 1, of 108 Blue Spruce Lane, Mifflinburg, passed away peacefully in the arms of his mother at 10:54 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA.
He was born on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, the son of Amber M. Traver of Mifflinburg.
Noah enjoyed smiling. He most enjoyed his time spent with his mother and sister, laughing and being noisy. Noah spent over half his life between Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, where he fought for his life against Heterotaxy Syndrome. Despite 5 heart surgeries and 2 abdominal surgeries, Noah was always happy. And although Noah lost his battle at only 17 months old, he’s showed everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him the true meaning of life. He carried a little toy drum set everywhere he went and was always willing to play music for nurses, doctors, family and friends.
Noah’s best friend was a little blue sock monkey blanket that he couldn’t sleep without, though he would take cuddles from anyone willing to share. Noah’s life may have been short, but it was not without purpose. His mother dedicates a great amount of time to raising Heterotaxy Syndrome and Congenital Heart Defect awareness.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Morgan E. Traver at home; grandparents, Jim and Gina Traver of Mifflinburg; three aunts, Samantha Traver of Lewisburg; Emilee Traver of Mifflinburg; Mallory Traver of Mifflinburg; a great-grandfather, Lawrence J. Traver of Genoa, OH; as well as numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Paul and Eleanor Turoscy and Barbara Traver.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 E. Market Street, Mifflinburg; followed by a memorial service at 11:00 with Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Noah’s memory may be sent to Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, Pa 17844 to help cover Noah’s funeral expenses.
