Nancy J. Ard, 92, of Lewisburg, entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Nottingham Village.
Born on June 13, 1931, in Lewisburg, Nancy was the daughter of Jacob S. and Nancy Marie (Herman) Bennage. She graduated from Mifflinburg High School in 1949.
Nancy is survived by her children, Alan (Kyle) and Tim (Eileen). Nancy was blessed with eight grandchildren: Gregory (Samantha), Ryan (Ashley), Leah, Danielle, Justin (Leah), Kiara (Jeremy), Ethan (Ashtin), and Holden (Alison) and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Miller, of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Musser Ard, her daughter, Louise Adams, and her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Marlin Brouse, and brother-in-law, Johnson Miller.
A cornerstone of her community, Nancy was not only a dedicated homemaker but also played an integral role alongside her husband, Ray, and son, Alan, in the establishment of Ard's Farm Market.
Her love for her family was matched only by her passion for life. Nancy found solace and joy in oil painting, the challenge of puzzles, the serenity of gardening, and the simple pleasure of feeding the birds. Her faith was the bedrock of her being, as she was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for countless years. She served her congregation with unwavering commitment, whether through her roles on the Church Council, teaching Sunday School, greeting fellow parishioners, or participating in various committees.
Family and friends are invited to honor Nancy's memory during the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2349 Old Turnpike, Lewisburg, PA. A service, led by Lay Worship Leader Beverly Hoffman, will follow at 11 a.m., with a meal served at the church afterward to celebrate Nancy's life.
