Michael E. Pontius

Michael E. Pontius, 62, of Mifflinburg entered into rest at 11:36 AM on Wednesday, October 03, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital.

He was born on July 09, 1956 in Lewisburg, the son of the late Willard Junior and Geraldine Elizabeth (Derr) Pontius.

He was a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School.

Michael worked at Yorktown Cabinetry until he became disabled in 1989.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Even with his disability he was still able to hunt and he had the opportunity to harvest a deer a few years ago.

Surviving is one daughter, Danyelle Pontius,  a granddaughter, Kayla Pfeiffer, two brothers, William Pontius of Mifflinburg, John Pontius of Middleburg, three sisters brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Foster Bilger of Mifflinburg, Donna and Earl Steese of Mifflinburg, Dena and Donald Reber of Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by one son Casey Pontius, one brother, Jeffery Pontius and a nephew, Adam Pontius.

Michael was blessed with kindhearted neighbors and friend who looked out for him.  The family would also like to thank the staff at Evangelical Hospital ICU, Community Resources for Independence, Bayada Home Health Care, and the Visiting Nurse Association for their excellent care over the years.

Interment will private in Hartleton Cemetery.
