Mary E. Smith, 86, of 2750 Pleasant Grove Road, Mifflinburg, went to be with the Lord at 12:36 AM on Monday, January 02, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center.
She was born on March 18, 1930 in Danville, the daughter of the late Stewart R. and Ellen C. (Houtz) Boop. On August 01, 1952, in Maryland she married William Butler Smith, who passed away on March 08, 2010. Together, they shared 57 years of memories.
Mary graduated from Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1949.
Mary was a homemaker. Earlier in life she worked for Pennsylvania House Chair Factory, Lewisburg and Bucknell Dining Service.
Mary was a member of the Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church.
Mary enjoyed bird watching, making rugs, traveling, and watching her grandkids play sports.
Surviving are one stepson, William O. Smith of Lewisburg, one son and daughter-in-law, Stewart A. and Vicki Smith of Mifflinburg, one daughter and son-in-law, Connie J. and Steve Karchner of Mifflinburg, nine grandchildren, Annette Feltman, Tammy Sears, Joshua Smith, Bradley Smith, Kimberly Wagner, Kerri Kremer, Kelsey Kremer, Hunter Karchner, Brook Karchner, six great grandchildren, Ethan Sears, Erin Sears, Logan Feltman, Brandon Feltman, Noah Smith, Owen Smith, three sisters, Betty Shively of Millmont, Shirley Wirth of Selinsgrove, Estella Jane Boop of Laurelton.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John W. Boop on Sept. 11, 1997.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg and from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at the Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church, 1001 Market Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with the Rev. Johnny Blake, officiating.
Interment will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary`s memory may be made to Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church, 1001 Market Street, Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
