Mary Catherine Kahl, 89, of Millmont entered into rest on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Riverwoods.
Born on July 13, 1931 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Olan and Martha (Lamey) Boop.
Mary was an graduate of Mifflinburg High School Class of 1949.
She worked as a residential service aide at the former Laurelton Center for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. She then worked for the Mifflinburg School District as a teachers aide.
She was a member of Ebenezer Union Church of Christ and the Lincoln Chapel Methodist Church.
Mary served as a Judge of Elections for Hartley Township and volunteered for the Hartley Township Community Center for over 42 years. She ran the community center fair stand and lunch wagon at public sales with her many friends. Earlier in life, she was a member of the West End Fire Company and served on the ambulance crew as a EMT.
She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, who she loved very much.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Linda Schnure of Millmont, Edgar and Geri Schnure of Hughesville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Jim Poncheri of Hartleton, Dolores and Mark Splitt of Fleming, GA, 11 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and one sister, Miriam Turner of Mountaintop, PA. Also, her beloved cats, Buddy and Tommy.
She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Schnure, and one brother, Clair Boop.
Family and friends are invited to a walk thru viewing from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, Millmont, with Pastor Samantha McElwee, officiating. Please follow guidelines of wearing a mask and social distancing .
