Lewis E. Nease, 94, of 99 Linden Road, Lewisburg entered into rest at 2:55 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Watsontown Health and Rehab Center.
He was born on November 04, 1922 in Mulvane, Kansas, the son of the late Louis and Anne (Clifford) Nease. On July 15, 1942, in Belle Plaine, KS he married the former Margarette E. Douglass, who survives.
Mr. Nease was a US Army WWII veteran; he landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day plus one.
Lewis worked for Kansas Milling Company for 30 years.
He enjoyed antiques and refinishing oak furniture and traveling to Zephyr Hills, FL. Lewis was always known to lend a helping hand.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Connie L. and Frank E. Wilson of Lewisburg, one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald W. and Judith Nease of Wichita, KS, four grandchildren, Michelle Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Matthew Nease, Amanda Graham, four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one, son, Allan B. Nease, four siblings, William Nease, Thelma Seimer, Louie Chestnut, and Ruth Stagle.
Funeral services will be conducted in Belle Plaine, Kansas, where the interment will be in Belle Plaine Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Hatfield-Smith Funeral Home, 219 W 2nd Ave, Belle Plaine, Kansas, where the funeral will be held at 11.
Interment will be in the Belle Plaine Cemetery.
