Larry Eugene Botts

August 21, 1942 — December 24, 2016

Larry Eugene Botts, 74, of 63 Squirrel Lane, Lewisburg entered into rest at 2:58 PM on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Evangelical Community Hospital.

He was born on August 21, 1942 in Lewisburg, the son of the late Walter Waldo and Beatrice Anna (Walter) Botts.  On April 19, 1968, in Sunbury, he married the former Rose Mae Pierce, who survives. Together, they shared 48 years of memories.

Larry was a graduate Lewisburg High School, Class of 1960.

After high school, Larry enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1966.

Larry worked as a salesman for W.A. DeHart, Inc., New Columbia until his retirement in 2007.

He was member of Hillside Bible Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years.  He also held memberships with the Moose International, American Legion, and Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and the Union County Sportsman Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with family.  He loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees, and coached local teams when his son Steve played.  He would drive area veterans to the local VA Hospitals for their doctors appointments.

In addition to his wife, Rose, he is survived by three children; Christina and her husband, Kent Fogle of Lewisburg, Steven and his wife, Tami Botts of New Columbia, Brenda Clark and her companion, Rodney Kline of New Berlin; six grandchildren, Derek Fogle and fiancée, Lisa Hreha, Jared Nicholes and wife Nichole, Austin Fogle and fiancée Jasmine Rogers, Troy Botts, Hailey Botts, and Riley Clark; two great-grandchildren, Novlee Star Fogle and Marley Fogle; and one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Fred Hoffman of Lewisburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Walter Botts, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Hillside Bible Church, 1650 Centennial Road, Mifflinburg; where the funeral will follow at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Michael Cutler, officiating.

Interment will be in the Hillside Bible Church Cemetery, Mifflinburg, where full military honors will be accorded Mifflinburg American Legion, post # 410 and other area Veterans.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry`s memory may be sent to Hillside Bible Church, 1650 Centennial Road, Mifflinburg, PA 17844 .
