Kenneth Franklin Erdley, 97, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 3:11p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 05, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on December 13, 1914, in West Buffalo Twp., a son of the late Clarence E. Erdley and Sara E. (Frock) Erdley. On Oct. 13, 1932, he married the former Josephine Nerhood, who survives. This October 13th would have marked their 80thwedding anniversary.
Kenneth was a 1932 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He worked for PP& L and Citizen's Electric Company. Over Ken's working career he worked as a lineman and foreman.
Ken continued to work throughout his retirement years. Carpentry, gardening, and creating handy home gadgets were among his many interests.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #1396 and the Free and Accepted Masons, and the Williamsport Consistory where he became a thirty second degree mason.
Ken will be remembered for his friendly nature, interest in electronics, and his amazing recall of names numbers and events.
Surviving,in addition to his wife of nearly eighty years, is one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth F. Erdley Jr. and Charlotte J. Erdley of Lancaster; one grandson ,Derek W. Erdley and wife Jeanne of Havre de Grace, Md.; one great- grandson Konnor; one granddaughter Megan E. Jansson and husband Peter; one stepgrandson Sven; and his many friends and care- givers.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, John Alfred Erdley.
A memorial service to celebrate Ken's life will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.on Saturday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg.
Interment will be in the Pleasant View section of the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
