Kathryn E. Herman, 86, of Milton and formerly of Stein Lane, Lewisburg went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born on June 13, 1934 in Millmont, a daughter of the late Floyd Harvey and Gladys (Bingaman) Harvey. On November 18, 1955, she married Richard Lee Herman. His death in 2009 broke their marital union of nearly 54 years.
She was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1952.
Kathryn was primarily a homemaker and later in life worked part-time at Bucknell University in dining services. Early in life she worked at the JPM Company and assisted her husband in operation of their dairy farm.
She was a member of Dreisbach United Church of Christ, where she was active in missions, visitation, and various other church efforts.
She was a faithful blood donor for the American Red Cross.
She enjoyed gardening, needlework, yard sales and traveling. She and her husband had visited the 48 contiguous states. Her true joy and passion was her family. She was always quick to offer ice cream and her homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Surviving is one son, Richard N. Herman of Lewisburg, three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Michael Phelps of Mifflinburg, Lisa and Neal Fogle of Winfield, Sharon and Ted Seibert of Philipsburg, 9 grandchildren, Rachel Phelps, Joshua and wife Kara Phelps, Luke and wife Maggie Phelps, Seth and wife Maddie Phelps, Hannah Fogle, Becca Fogle, Daniel and wife Dana Seibert, Caleb and wife Amanda Seibert, Emily and husband Dylan Lucas, 5 great grandchildren, Abby, Mikayla, Corbin, Noah, Everson, one sister, Betty Kahl of Lewisburg, five brothers, Floyd Harvey of Lewisburg, Daniel Harvey of Weikert, Terry Harvey of Mifflinburg, David Harvey of Weikert, and Galen Harvey of Millmont.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, and one brother, Richard Harvey.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at 11am on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, with Pastor Nate Druckenmiller and Pastor Ted Seibert, officiating. Attendees will be given the opportunity to view Kathryn following the service and are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
Interment will be in Kratzerville Cemetery.
