John R. Schrey

John Robert Schrey, 71, of Port Trevorton entered into rest on Monday, November 4, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family.

Born on February 14, 1953 in Sunbury, PA a son of the late Robert Walter and Faith Louanda (Stahl) Schrey. On March 22, 1975 at Bethel Mennonite Church he married the former Esther Lois Weaver, who survives.

John was engaged in farming in Snyder County.

He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills.

Surviving are in addition to his loving wife, of 49 years, Lois, are 8 children and their spouses, Noah and Marlene Schrey of Port Trevorton, PA, Hannah and Kenneth Beachy of Canton, PA, Joel and Jennifer Schrey of Port Trevorton, PA, Faith Schrey of Port Trevorton, PA, Lydia and Gabriel Mack of Polo, IL, Philip and Ruth Ann Schrey of Selinsgrove, PA, Esther Schrey of Farmington, NM, Delores Schrey of Port Trevorton, PA, 32 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Janice and David of Columbiana, OH, Lois and Carson, Stauffer of Port Trevorton, PA, one brother, Steven Schrey of Port Trevorton, PA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Showalter, one grandson, Victor Schrey.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, 134 Center Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills where the funeral will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 9, 2024 with the home ministry of Bethel Mennonite Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.
