John W. Nichols, 77, of Millmont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:20 pm at his home.
John was born on September 2, 1940 in Selinsgrove to Walter and Edith (O’Brien) Nichols. He married the former Myrle E. Smith on December 31, 2012 at the Mifflinburg Church of New Life. Together, they shared 5 years of happy memories.
John was a carpenter and a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Union County Sportsman Club. John enjoyed being outdoors, especially cutting firewood for their home. He was also a member of the West End Fire Company.
John enjoyed traveling with his wife Myrle. They planned a yearly vacation at the beach for 2 weeks; enjoyed a train trip to Colorado and was making plans to get to Hawaii.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his a son, Steve Nichols of Texas, and two daughters; Tammy Lawton and Lori Heddings both of Selinsgrove; numerous grandchildren, a brother, Bud Nichols; as well as his step-children and their families.
John was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Nichols.
A Life Celebration service is being planned for this summer at Mifflinburg Church of New Life, with Pastor Butch Woolsey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s memory can be sent to Mifflinburg Church of New Life, 504 Whippoorwill Lane, Lewisburg 17837.
