John David Mylott

February 19, 1951 — July 20, 2024

John D. Mylott, 73, of Mifflinburg, PA, passed away on July 20 at home, resulting from Glioblastoma. 

He was born in Massachusetts, a son of the late Gilda (Ciafardoni) Mylott and Joseph Mylott. 

He graduated from Lynn Trade in 1968 then entered the USAF.  He was a Vietnam Veteran spending two deployments in Thailand.  After receiving his honorable discharge he worked for Digital Equipment Corp. for 23 year. 

He and his wife lived in Massachusetts until moving to PA in 2010.  He drove transport vehicles for many years including Rohrer Bus, Penn State Hershey Rehab Hospital, Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Uber, Lyft, Door Dash, Grub Hub & Uber Eats for Union County. 

He was involved in many activities throughout his life, including Cub Scouts, Little League, President of JC’s, Coordinator for local Salvation Army Christmas time bell ringing volunteers and finance.  He ran Audio Video and TV broadcasting for Grace Baptist Church, Hudson, MA, served as Deacon and founding member of Hope Chapel, Sterling, MA. 

John and his wife also volunteered one week a year through Builders for Christ, building additions and churches in MA, Ohio and PA.  He also assisted in the transition process for establishing Living Legacy Church, Hershey, PA. 

Throughout his life he enjoyed tennis, visiting the US Open and playing with anyone who he could find to pick up a game. He was a member of the Hershey Racket Club. He especially enjoyed playing weekly with his buddies, Jack or Bart.  He was an avid reader!  John had a wonderful sense of humor and loved getting others to laugh.

John leaves Margo ( Burgess) his wife of 54 years; his daughter , Jennifer Chapman, Mifflinburg, PA and son, Gregory (Jocelyn) Mylott of Lancaster, MA.  He leaves three grandchildren; Joseph and Michael Chapman and also Samantha Mylott. He also leaves his niece and nephew, Elizabeth (Mylott) Gallaway Schreiber, MA and Jason Mylott, Manchester, NH.

 He is preceded in death by his only brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sarajane Mylott and his grandson, David Chapman.

Service will be announced in the near future.
