John Weaver Hoover, 55, of Lewisburg passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his residence.
Born on August 30, 1968 in Lewisburg, a son of Joseph H. Hoover and Margaret Z. (Weaver) Hoover of Millmont. On October 26, 1989 in New Holland he married the former Joanna B. Nolt who survives John was engaged in farming in Union County.
He was a member of the Vicksburg Old Order Mennonite Church.
Surviving are in addition to his loving wife, Joanna, are 6 children and their spouses, Lois and Clement Brubaker of Liberty, KY, Lamar and Amanda Hoover of Lewisburg, Martha and David Zimmerman of Beavertown, John Mark and Joyce Hoover of Lewisburg, Ruthann Hoover and Marlin Hoover both at home, 10 grandchildren, 10 siblings, Ellen and Alvin Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Ada and Owen Martin of Allenwood, Luke and Ada Mae Hoover of Mifflinburg, Mark and Marian Hoover of Elton, KY, James and Ella Mae Hoover of Mifflinburg, Steven and Ruthie Hoover of Mifflinburg, Esther and Clair Horning of Mifflinburg, Daniel and Ruth Hoover of Mifflinburg, Mary and Anthony Reiff of Mifflinburg, and Sarah Ann and Daryl Weaver of Millmont, and his father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Jane Nolt of New Holland.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Amos and Alice Hoover, maternal grandparents, Titus and Lydia Weaver, sister Martha Hoover, nephew, Alvin Martin, and grandson, Cody John Hoover.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the family home, located at 1734 Hoffa Mill Road, Lewisburg, where the family service will be held at 9am on Monday with further services being held at Vicksburg Old Order Mennonite Church, 624 Beaver Run Road, Mifflinburg at 9:30 am with Bishop Lloyd R. Zimmerman and the local church ministry officiating.
Interment will be in the Vicksburg Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery.
