Joey L. Reich

May 12, 1957 — April 20, 2024

Joey Larue Reich, 66, of Winfield, passed away on the morning of April 20. Born in Winfield on May 12, 1957 to Marvin and Catherine Reich, he grew up on the family farm eventually run by his brother Ronnie.

Joey graduated from Selinsgrove High School, SUN Area Vocational School and McCann School of Business. Joey had a variety of jobs including auto body repair, working as an aide at the Selinsgrove Center, accounting for a local builder, and working as a house parent at the Milton Hershey School with his wife. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and re-telling the same jokes. He loved his family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Joey is survived by his wife Terrie; his daughter Katie Hanna and her husband Sami; his son Brian and his wife Samantha; his grandchildren Elise, Kai, Lily, and Sawyer; and siblings Jean, Ronald, Robert and wife Virginia, and Richard and wife Diane.

He was preceded in death by his mother Catherine, father Marvin, step-mother Nora, brother in law Gordon, and sister-in-law Jeanette.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Covenant Community Church on Wednesday, April 24, at 1:00 PM. Interment will occur at a private ceremony held by the immediate family.

Joey's adult life was defined by lows brought on by health struggles including heart failure, multiple bouts with cancer, losing his bladder, and kidney failure. These lows were followed by the highs of medical miracles including a heart transplant that allowed him the chance to experience milestones he didn't expect to see: his children's high school and college graduations; his own college graduation; his children's marriages; his 47th anniversary to his loving wife Terrie; the birth and unfolding lives of his four grandchildren.

It was Joey's wish that we not remember him through rose-tinted glasses. So with respect to his wishes: he abused his lawnmower and complained about the repairs; he was unkind to telemarketers; and his habit of leaving dirty toothpicks sitting around got kind of off-putting.

On balance, we couldn't have asked for a better husband, father, and "papa." You are loved, and sorely missed. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Joey L. Reich, please visit our flower store.
