From a young age, Joan was always surrounded by animals and that love was evident in how she cared for her own pets or any strays that happened to cross her path. She never said no to helping whether it be an animal or someone in need. She loved taking her therapy dog, Annie, to the prison, nursing home and schools. Joan was always delivering soup, cookies or volunteering with local organizations. Those that knew her personally will remember her as a caring Christian, a Mama Bear who loved her family, a true friend who was always ready to listen or lift up, and a woman with an energy level that never slowed down.
Joan was a member of the Circle "M" Saddle Club, SUN P.E.T.S, and the Gutelius House, The Buggy Museum, and the Susquehanna Trail Dog Training Club.
Due to the current health crisis, interment will be private in Mifflinburg Cemetery. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a future date.
