Jessie Phyllis Church

Jessie Phyllis Church, 99, of Mifflinburg went to be with the Lord at 7:51 am on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.

Born on November 15, 1921 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Sterling R. and Irene L. (Benjamin) Slusser. She married Clarence Church who preceded her in death in 1959.

She attended school at Shickshinny High School.

Jessie retired as a sewing machine operator from the Lady Ester Garment Factory.

Jessie lovingly, single handedly raised her three children. Her relationship with God and sharing His light was her highest priority. She was a passionate "Prayer Warrior" who prayed fervently for the needs of others.

Jessie faithfully attended Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton, and more recently, when able, attended Community Christian Church, Vicksburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Rennells of Mifflinburg, two sons and daughter-in-law, David Church of Winfield, Craig and Rosena Church of Berwick, grandchildren: Susan ( Scott) Nogler, Joy Russell, Brian (Joanna) Evans, Janel (Justin) Kopp, Jennifer (Gene) Shek, Colleen Church, Beverly (Jeremy) DeMarco, step granddaughter, Kathy Baker, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, brother, Sterling Slusser, Jr., 3 sisters, Marjorie Eveland, Mary Kapsak, and Yvonne (Raymond) Weatherill, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Winifred Stackhouse, Anna Jean Yedinak, Erma Logan and one son-in-law, Frank Rennells.

Family and friends are invited to a walk- thru viewing from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 am with Pastor Jeff Yount officiating.
