Jean Marie Dodson Lyons,80, residing at the residence of her daughter Linda Cooper, 430 North Fourth Street, Mifflinburg and formerly of Loop Station, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:30 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville.
She was born on March 16, 1932 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Levi Harry Dodson and Edna Pearl Hanley. On March 17, 1952, she married the Harry Leonard Lyons, who passed away on July 9, 2002.
Jean graduated from Altoona High School class of 1950.
She attended the Hollidaysburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church and enjoyed attending the senior center at the Duncansville United Methodist Church from 2002 to 2011.
Mrs. Lyons and her husband operated Lyons Family Country Store, Loop Station, PA for 30 years. They also served as Tax Collector for Blair Township, Blair County for 20 years.
Jean enjoyed putting puzzles together, listening to Christian music, reading Christian novels, and reading her Bible.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda and husband, Terry of Mifflinburg, Lora Walker and Husband Bruce of Pittsburgh, one sister, Theda M. Baker and Husband William of Martinsburg, one brother, Carl W. Dodson of Altoona,two grandsons, Christopher Walker and William Walker, five great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Lou Wise.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 12 on Tuesday at the Hollidaysburg Christian Missionary Alliance, 183 Jefferson Street, Hollidaysburg, where the funeral will be conducted at Noon, with the ministers; Rev. Steven Miller, Rev. Donald Robson, officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Springs PA.
