Janet Louise Spurr, 64, of Mifflinburg entered into rest at 1:05 pm on Monday, December 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born on January 27, 1953 in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of the late Edward and Grace (Kohler) Hartzell. On August 4, 1973, in Irwin, PA she married Charles Frederick Spurr, who survives.
Janet was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War era as a medical records specialist. Her years of service were from December 2, 1974 until her honorable discharge on December 1, 1977.
Janet was a registered nurse; having worked at Grayson View Manor, Selinsgrove as Health and Wellness Director, and at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village as Director of Nursing. Earlier in life she worked at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
She was a member Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg, where she served on various committees.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Darian Parker of Las Vegas, NV, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Andrea Spurr, of Pittsburgh, PA, and one granddaughter, Anna Rose Parker.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Hartzell.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 pm on Thursday at Adamo’s, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 2, with Pastor Gary Owens, officiating.
