Ida M. Pelter, 97, of Shamokin passed away at 3:15 pm on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on May 04, 1920 in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude (Bergstresser) Dingle.
Ida was a graduate of Shamokin Area High School.
Ida worked at Shroyers Dress Factory, Shamokin as a pattern grader for nearly 40 years, where she worked closely with the designers on selecting correct fabrics.
She was devoted to her only child and served as a den mother with his Cub Pack. She was a strong woman and a wonderful role model for her granddaughter.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Judith Pelter of Millmont, one granddaughter, Jennifer Pelter of State College, niece Noroene Ladd of Shamokin, two great-grandchildren, Jamie and Kyra, and one sister, Jane Weaver of Watsontown. .
She was preceded in death by one son, James A. Pelter, three sisters, Shirley Dingle, Grace Caseman, Bessie Spencer, and one brother, Fred Dingle.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with the Rev. Mrs. Shirley Cornell, officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Paxinos.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ida`s memory may be sent to the Susquehanna Council Boy Scouts of America: Camp Karoondinha, 225 Thomas Dam Rd, Millmont, PA 17845.
