Harold Slotterback Klauger, 89, of Weikert passed away at 4:11 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital.
He was born on February 25, 1929 in Ashland, a son of the late William and Molly (Slotterback) Klauger. On January 22, 1951, he married the former Alma Esther (Heizenroth) Klauger, who survives.
He was a graduate of Ashland Area High School Class of 1947. Following high school he joined the Navy and served as a Pharmacist Mate until his honorable discharge in 1950.
Harold was a self employed Plumber during 1950’s and 60’s. He then went to work for DOW, Inc, Lewisburg, initially in the field and later in the office as an estimator.
He was a member of the UA Local #520, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had a cottage on the St. Lawrence River that he enjoyed visiting.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Dallas and Toni Klauger of Weikert, Paul and Sherri Klauger of Millmont, one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Gary Struble of Weikert, 7 grandchildren, Chad, Matthew, Brooke, Kristi, Shauna, Clinton, Alisha, 8 great grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Darren, Austin, Collin, Kylie, MacKenzie, Lacie, and his beloved dog, Missy.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minerva Umlauf, Larrain Burmeister, four brothers, Lewis Klauger Paul Klauger, Lloyd Klauger, and Wilmer Klauger.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday at the Hironimus Union Church, Weikert, where the funeral will be held at 2, with The Rev. Richard L. DeVett, officiating.
Interment will be in the Hironimus Union Church Cemetery.
