Papa’s favorite hobbies included hunting, as well as collecting coins, and baseball cards. He was an avid baseball fan, as he enjoyed attending games in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Papa was a lifelong member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company, serving his community for a total of 76 years. Over his years in the fire company, he served in several roles, including assistant fire chief. He was also an Honorary President of the Pennsylvania Central District Volunteer Firemen’s Association.

He is survived by four sons, one daughter, and their spouses. Donald Houpt and his companion Sandy Arnold, of Millmont, PA, Douglas and Deliah Houpt of Washington State, Kerry Houpt of Oklahoma City, OK, Jill and Ronald (Butch) Adams of Mifflinburg, PA, and Kim Houpt of Mifflinburg, PA.
