George J. Sholter, Jr.

George J. "Jug" Sholter, Jr., 80, of Weikert entered into rest on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence.

Born on December 28, 1943 in Lewisburg, the son of the late George J. Sholter, Sr and Sarah (Galer) Sholter. On May 22, 1968, at the Glen Iron Pilgrims Holiness Church he married the former Linda M. Keister, who survives.

He was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School Class of 1962.

He worked as a caretaker for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Lodge #22 in Weikert.  In his earlier years he worked for the United Methodist Camp under the Rev. Anderson and for Eugene Kahley assisting with hauling cars.

He was of the United Methodist faith.

Jug was a member of the Union County Sportsman Club, Weikert. He loved to hunt and fish, tinker with old cars, attending to his tree orchard, and going to the races.  He was a lover of nature and the outdoors and enjoyed getting together with family.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Linda, are two sons, Ricky A. Sholter and companion Samantha Guffey of Lewisburg, Rodney H. Sholter and wife Tracy Miller Sholter of Mifflinburg, one grandson, Jacob Sholter of Mifflinburg, step grandson, Joshua Frank of Selinsgrove, step great grandson, Jackson Frank,  two sisters, Sandra Mills of Lock Haven, Gayle Sholter Ulrich of MIfflinburg.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 am on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 East Walnut Street, MIfflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 with Rev. Richard DeVett officiating.

Interment will be in the Hironimus Union Cemetery, Weikert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jug's memory may be sent to Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, Pa 17837.
