Ethel J. (Kratzer) Wenrich , 87, of 13000 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont entered into rest at 7:10 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Rolling Hills Manor .
She was born on June 4, 1927 in Penn Twp., Snyder Co. a daughter of the late Artie Ray and Carrie Victoria (Hollenbach) Kratzer . On January 26, 1946, in Millmont she married Harold E. “Bud” Wenrich , who preceded her in death on October 16, 1999.
Ethel attended Boyer’s School in Penn Twp., Snyder Co.
Ethel assisted her husband in farming on their Lewis Twp . Union County farm and also worked as the custodian at Christ’s Unit ed Lutheran Church for 10 years retiring in 2006.
She was a lifelong member of Christ’s Unit ed Lutheran Church, where she served as head of the Alter G uild, head of the sewing circle , was a me mber of WELCA , and loved to pull weeds around the church. She also a ssisted with the church’s food stand at the West End Fair .
Ethel enjoyed g ardening , recycling things for home and church use, watching Regis and Kathy, and s pending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.
Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Carol A. and Edwin B. Price of Lewisburg, June L. Wenrich of Millmont, Frances J. Wenrich of Lewisburg, three grandchildren, Wendy and husband Kurt Slusser of Berwick, Brenda Price of Riverside, Jerrold Price and fiancée Amber Holt of Clarksville, TN, one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Slusser, three sisters and one brother-in-law, Arla Berger of Lewisburg, Dorothy Staley of Milton, and Marie and F. Ernest Snook of New Berlin.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Hackenberg, three brothers-in-law, Joseph Hackenberg, Keith Berger, and Thomas Staley.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at Christ's United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Rd, Millmont, where the funeral will be held at 11 , with The Rev. John D. Yost , officiating.
Interment will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
