Doracs Weaver Herr

Dorcas Weaver Herr, 90, of Adams, New York and formerly of Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the home of her daughter.

Born on February 4, 1934 in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Jacob S. and Margaret (Hursh) Weaver.  On October 10, 1953, she married J. Donald Herr at the New Danville Mennonite Meetinghouse. Together they shared nearly 71 years of married life.

Dorcas graduated from Manor-Millersville High School in 1951.  In the years following, her responsibilities included filling the role of wife, mother, school teacher and author.  She enjoyed serving the Lord, reading good stories and writing them.  Dorcas will also be remembered as a long-time Budget scribe.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Eunice Anne Lehman (Jason) of Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania, Julia Lynn Rohrer (Mervin) of Flora, Indiana, Donna Lois Wadel of Washington Boro, Pennsylvania,  Daniel W. Herr (Dawn) of Millmont, Pennsylvania, Deborah Joy Diller (Ralph) of Adams, New York with whom she resided; 33 grandchildren and 81 great grandchildren; a sister Laura H. Weaver of Evansville, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents: a son-in-law Paul E. Wadel: a grandson, David B. Herr and a great grandson Gordon Cormier.

A viewing will be held Sunday, October 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with funeral services on Monday, October 14th at 9:30 am at Shekinah Christian Fellowship, 592 Smith Road, Middleburg, PA. 

Burial will be the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Ave, Millersville, PA.
