Donald E. Smith, 86, of Mifflinburg, passed away on July 18, 2019 at his daughter, Laura's home.
He was born in Sunbury, PA on February 22, 1933. His late parents were William F. Smith and the former Clarion C. Straub.
Donald graduated with the Class of 1951 from Sunbury High School.
A proud member of U.S. Army since his enlistment in 1953, he served in South Korea and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
In his earlier years, he worked with various cable tv systems for 24 years, including Jerrold Electronics of Philadelphia. He had 8 years of building maintenance before he started his own Mobile Home Repair business.
Donald was a member of the Northumberland Legion and VFW.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed primitive camping.
Surviving are one son, D. Matthew Smith of Idaho, two daughters, Debra A. Smith of Oregon, Laura Lopez of York; a brother, William F. Smith of Northumberland. He was a grandfather to 11, and a great grandfather to 8.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott E. Smith, and a sister, June Eileen Hart.
Family and friends are invited to the celebration of life service on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:30 am at Adamo's, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. There will be a time of greeting from 11:00-11:30.
A private interment will be in the Orchard Hills Cemetery.
