Dean H. Klingman, 75, of Mifflinburg made his peace with God and went to be with Jesus his Redeemer and Savior at 8:37 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his residence.
Born on January 6, 1945 in Mifflinburg, a son of the late John A. and Florence G. (Royer) Klingman. On May 10, 2009, he married the former Karen Elizabeth Rufty, who passed away on October 4, 2019.
He attended Mifflinburg High School.
Dean was a US Army veteran serving two tours in Vietnam from Nov. 18 1966 until his honorable discharge on Nov. 21, 1968. While in the Army he initially was in the artillery division, but on his second tour he became a cook.
He developed a love of cooking and after leaving the Army, he worked at American Home Foods, Milton, until going on disability with a back injury.
Dean loved to hunt, fish, ride motorcycle, and hang out with veterans.
Surviving are his two brothers and sisters-in-law, John A. Klingman, Jr, and wife Debbie of Mifflinburg, Wayne E. Klingman and wife Paula of Mifflinburg, his nephew/brother Leonard and wife Bonnie Klingman, and two nephews, Perry Klingman and wife Brenda, and Corey Klingman and wife Tammy.
Family and friends are invited to the graveside service at 10 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, with Pastor Dick DeVett, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964 both of Mifflinburg.
