David Brown Nail, 83, of Shamokin Dam passed away at 12:43 PM on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at home.
Born on January 19, 1937 in Mt. View, AR, a son of the late Roy Estes and Martha Opal (Brown) Nail. On Nov. 6, 1965, he married the former Beverley Anne Young , who survives. Together, they shared 55 years of memories.
Military Info: David joined the Air Force at 17 and spent more than 24 years working in radar operations, and computer programming. David has two years of college and holds multiple certifications. He was even fortunate enough to teach computer programming classes at a community college in Omaha, NE
Upon retirement from the Air Force, David spent 9 years working as a computer programmer for RCA, GE, and Martin Marrietta. In 1986 Martin Marrietta merged to become Lockhead Martin. Shortly after he was transferred to Maine to join the amazing team of programmers who developed the weapons control systems aboard the Aegis Class cruisers and destroyers. He retired from Lockhead Martin in 1999 only to purchase Little Mexico Campground less than a year later. When the family sold the campground in 2012 David retired from his 3rd and final career.
First and foremost David enjoyed his family and friends. He and Beverley spent years square dancing, bowling, and were heavily involved in scouting. After retirement he enjoyed full time RVing.
Surviving are David’s wife, Beverley Anne (Young) Nail, children Lawrence David Nail and wife Jennifer, Tina Nail, and Dana Asselyn and husband Kirk. His grandchildren Amanda, Danielle and husband Josh, Kristina, Brittany and husband Bryce, Casey, and Britni and his six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his older sister Ruby (Nail) Hobby, his brother in-law Gene Miller, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6pm on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, with Pastor Barry Robinson, officiating
Interment will be in the, Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba, MI.
