Cole E. Rice, 46, of 1780 Pleasant Grove Road, Mifflinburg passed away at 6:15 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Kratzerville due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born on February 17, 1967 in Sunbury, a son of the late Ronald Gene and Sally (Eisly) Rice.
Cole attended Midd-West and Selinsgrove area schools.
Cole worked for the past five years in road building with Knisely Construction, York.
He enjoyed hunting, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Cole was high on life and always willing to do something with friends and family. While his son was in scouts he volunteered as a Scoutmaster for Troop 508, New Berlin.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Danielle Rice of Lewisburg, one daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and David Shoemaker of Millmont, one granddaughter, Deanna Rice, two grandsons, David and Jacob Shoemaker, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Keith and Angela Rice of Freeburg, Jim Rice of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Ronald and Teresa Rice of Middleburg, three sisters and one brother-in-law, Tammie and Dean Scholl of McClure, Elaine Bolig and companion Robert Sprenkle of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Carolyn Clinger of Lewistown. Also, surviving is his companion Lori Oberdorf of Mifflinburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Rice who passed away in 1987.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday at the Beavertown God's Missionary Church, 1693 Creek Road, Middleburg, where the funeral will be held at 2 with Pastor James Plank, officiating. Following the service guests are invited to join the family in fellowship and light refreshments.
