Clair Reuben Boop, 87, of Mifflinburg entered into rest at 1:15 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at RiverWoods.
He was born on February 17, 1930 in Hartley Twp., Union County, the son of the late Olan and Martha Jane (Lamey) Boop. He was married to the former Patricia B. Bowersox, who survives.
Clair was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School class of 1949.
Clair owned and operated Clair Boop Excavating, Mifflinburg for 58 years and was engaged in farming in Hartley Twp, where he raised Red Face Steer. Earlier in life he hauled milk to New York City for Robert H. Carr.
He was a lifetime member of the Union County Sportsman Club.
Clair was an avid turkey and deer hunter, and enjoyed collecting Winross trucks.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Glisson, and Rebecca Dale of both Pelkie, MI, four grandchildren, two step daughters, Kathy Marshall of Hanover, Carrie Wagner of Lewisburg, 3 step grandchildren, two great step grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Kahl of Millmont, Miriam Turner, Mountain Top, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael David Boop.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 PM on Sunday at Adamo’s, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 2, with the Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.
Interment will be in the Hill Top Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
