Carrol L. Maurer, 82, of 900 Vista Heights Drive, New Berlin entered into rest at 12:08 PM on Monday, November 17, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on March 08, 1932 in Cowan, the daughter of the late Paul and Ethelene (Rute) Baker. On November 27, 1952, she married Marvin D. Maurer, who survives.
Carrol graduated from Lewisburg High School class of 1950.
Carrol was a homemaker and drove the USTA bus for many years.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin.
She was an avid camper, traveling to many states. She assisted and supported scouts and severed as a Cub Scout leader, and called squared dances for her husband's band for many years.
Carrol loved playing games and always had a new game for family and friends to play. She enjoyed making arts and crafts both individually and with family. She organized for the past twenty years a trip for the entire family every June at the beach; they always had a theme for one celebration night with costumes and apporopariate food to go with the theme.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Georgianna of Myakka City, FL, one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Leonard Thompson of Troutman, NC, four grandchildren, Shenan Thompson, Reagan Maurer, Gina Thompson, Paul Maurer, one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Drew Hyman of State College, one sister-in-law, Dorothy Baker of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Baker, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Carrol’s life at 11 am on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market Street, New Berlin, with the Rev. James Cope, officiating. Following the service will be a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church social hall.
Interment will be conducted privately in New Berlin Cemetery.
