Amelia E. (Peachey) Bender

Amelia E. Bender, 84, of Mifflinburg entered into rest on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born on August 24, 1934 in Allensville, a daughter of the late Ezra F. and Ella B. (Peachey) Peachey. On November 25, 1954, in Allensville, PA by the Rev. John B. Renno she married Jonas P. Bender, who survives.

Amelia was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Morning Star Mennonite Church, Mifflinburg.

Amelia enjoyed reading, gardening, and quilting. Over the years she has made a quilt for all of her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Jonas, are 10 children and their spouses, William and Kathy Bender of Millmont, Ella and Richard Koehn of Almena, WI, Salina and Randall Helms of Barron, WI, Thomas and Wilma Bender of Hydro, OK, Wilma and Bradley Litwiller of Dallas, WI, James and Eunice Bender of Mifflinburg, Jonas and Robin Bender of Hydro, OK, Chester and Regina Bender of Mifflinburg, Eldon and Rachel Bender of Mifflinburg, 40 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and one sister, Sarah E. Peachey of Belleville

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jemima Judy Bender, two grandsons, one granddaughter and 15 siblings.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Morning Star Mennonite Church, 1835 Mensch Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10:30 AM, with the church's home ministry, officiating.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
