Alma Rita Chiarkas

Alma Rita Chiarkas, 73, of 48 DeLong Road, Middleburg entered into rest at 10:29 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born on August 19, 1945 in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Lilian (DeLellis) Li Puma.  On October 10, 1965, she married Henry Chiarkas, who survives.

Alma was a beautiful woman both inside and out.  She and her beloved Hank shared 53 marvelous years married to each other as one accompanied by three beautiful sons and grandsons.  Laughter was a treasured by her as her love was so treasured by her family and all who were lucky enough to be a part of her life.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Jacqueline Chiarkas of State College, Michael and Susan Chiarkas of Sunbury, Peter and Anita Chiarkas of State College, four grandsons, Nicholas Chiarkas, Matthew Chiarkas, Michael Chiarkas Chance Gaines, granddaughter, Kayley Gaines and her beloved hound dog, Daisy Mae, one brother  and sister-in-law, Walter and  Virginia Li Puma of Bayport, NY,  a cousin, Rita  and her husband John Algieri of Hillsdale, NY,  a sister-in-law, Susan Fisher of Brewster, NY.   She was also beloved by many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
