Alice Mae Weller, 80, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 3:45 AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport.
She was born on June 24, 1936 in Decatur Twp., Mifflin County, the daughter of the late George P. and Arie A. (Bickel) Haines. On August 21, 1952, she married the Kenneth Eugene Weller, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1991.
Alice was a member of the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren.
Alice primarily worked with her husband farming multiple farms in Union County. After they retired from farming she worked at the bakery at Stuckey’s IGA, Mifflinburg, and the Laurelton Center at the snack bar.
She enjoyed baking, and baked several blue ribbon Shoo-fly pies at the Union County West End Fair.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane L. and Richard Hunt of Mifflinburg, Sally A. and Randy Reichenbach of Port Trevorton, Sandra L. and John Eby of Paxinos, seven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy and Charles Strawser of Selinsgrove, Constance L. DeFacis of Mifflinburg, four brothers, Carl and Vivian Haines of Winfield, David and Ruth Haines of Mifflinburg, George and Velma Haines of Mifflinburg, and Kenneth and Nancy Haines of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Boop, Goldie Ruloff, Mamie Smith, Celesta Dauberman, and five brothers, Howard Haines, Charles Haines, Stanford Haines, Raymond Haines, and Glenn Haines.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Rd, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 7 pm, with the Rev. Eric Reamer, officiating.
Interment will be in the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
